23rd maj 2019 - 27th maj 2019
This 4-day workshop is an intensive hands-on introduction to making music with computers using the Supercollider programming language. Supercollider is an environment for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. https://supercollider.github.io
Limited to 8 participants. The workshop is residential (you will stay in tents). Meal ingredients (organic local produce) will be provided (collaborative cooking on open fire). Vegetarian and Vegan friendly.
There will be 3 * ~1.5 hour workshops per day with opportunities in between for guided study, walks and field recording collection.
The course tutor is Rob Canning who has 20 years experience of composing music with computers and a PhD in networked music composition from Goldsmiths University of London. He was also course director of the BA Digital Media course in Coventry University (UK) so is pedagogically equipped to bring you from computer music novice / Supercollider “Newbie” to a more advanced understanding.
The workshop is family-friendly so if you want to bring along partners/children/pets etc. this can be arranged. This way your learning experience can be combined with a little holiday.
